This extremely scenic hike will take a couple of hours to reach Tungnath temple.After a brief stop for refreshments we trek further to the summit of Chandrashilla peak .The summit offers views of big Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba.

The Chadar trek takes you right onto the frozen Zanskar river, into the middle of an untamed winter wilderness. The only thing separating you from the icy depths of the river is a sheet of ice. You’ll see waterfalls frozen in mid-flow, bubbles trapped under the ice, and trees with no leaves. You’ll stop at the famous Tibb Cave to share a cup of hot buttered tea over a blazing fire, and camp at night in tents under starry skies. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience!

It lies on a direct route from Pabbar valley (Shimla district) into Sangla valley (Kinnaur District) of Himachal Pradesh and involves crossing of a 4578m high Buran Ghati Pass. Dhanwari, near Rohru in Shimla district, is the convenient road head and can be approached from Shimla via Theog and Jubbal. An ancient temple of Hatkoti between Jubbal and Rohru is an added attraction and has a tourist rest house.
